The Temari of this week is a Japanese iris.
I made this Temari from the image of a Japanese iris.
Although this pattern is a traditional pattern, it is not seen at not much many places.
I think that it is because it probably seems to need time for making more than appearance.

In Japan, it is considered as the day which wishes growth of a boy on May 5.
At this time, a Japanese iris is decorated with a warrior doll and a helmet.
Moreover, the leaf and stalk of a medicinal kind are put into a bath, and a scent is enjoyed.
A Japanese iris is also called Shyoubu, and since it is the same language as a match, it is supposed that it was used for a boy's congratulation.
